World Health Organisation: Nothing for us, without us

To identify opportunities and challenges in the meaningful engagement of people living with NCDs, the WHO brought together colleagues, representatives and individuals with lived experience to a virtual consultation. Its findings and recommendations are published in the report ‘Nothing for us, without us’.

As global health priorities rapidly transformed in 2020, it became increasingly challenging for the WHO to provide relevant policies and programmes for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health priorities.

To harness the power of community knowledge to tailor contextually feasible, appropriate and attractive practices for target populations, the WHO Global Coordination Mechanism on NCDs (GCM/NCD) brought together colleagues, representatives and individuals with lived experience to a virtual consultation. The goal: to identify opportunities and challenges in the meaningful engagement of people living with NCDs (PLWNCDs).

‘Nothing for Us, Without Us’ is the resulting digital report presenting key themes, collective learnings, and actionable next steps along with quotes and visualisations of results from a virtual survey.
